Yesterday I was delivered the next batch of my Czechoslovak infantry. Again, I have to say they look superb - thanks to Paul Hicks, Griffin Moulds, ... and of course me. I'll put them in my "Store", so that they are available to everyone who is interested.
4 November 2009
After more than a year of real war at work (in which I had to deal with some buggers - and now I'm being very polite), things are getting to the normal and I'm slowly becoming able to put things in order. Everything I have neglected, I am going to make up for.
Here are the next 4 figures sculpted by Paul Hicks to complement my own range of the pre-war Czechoslovak army. I'm going to contact the Griffin Moulds to have them cast in white metal as soon as possible.
Here they come in pewter. Today I've been delivered my Czechoslovak infanterists. I have to say they look great - thanks to Paul Hicks, Griffin Moulds, ... and me. I'll put them in my "Store", so that they are available to everyone who is interested.
I haven't updated my sites for quite a long time because I've been revamping them a bit. However, I just couln't resist to post some pictures of my own (unique) range sulpted by Paul Hicks. I've decided to have the 28 mm Czechoslovak army in pewter, so here come the first ones. I've contacted the Griffin Moulds who will be in charge of the casting.

I finally found a while to take a couple of pics of the long promissed grenadiers. Now, watching the little "cuties", I have admit it was bloody hard to get them to this level. Firts much filing, curving, and then painting all the details ... Ah, I'm glad to be through with them. "Not yet, mate, not yet." I can hear three drummers standing on my desk with a strange smile on their lips.
So, click the Gren and ...
Today only one "practically" finished grenadier.
Merry Christmas to everyone
23 December 2007
In the previous entry I promised to show Grenadiers, but my employer gave me a really hard task to do, so I had to put all my effort into that ... bloody thing ..., so I'll post them as soon as possible. In the meantime you can have a look at a couple of photos of our family ancestors in uniforms .
Unbelievable, but true - I'm painting again. After many obstacles by various "accidents", I got back, grasped firmly my paintbrush, and started my precious activity. I've updated the new stuff in my gallery with some kneeling musketeers. To be really honest the kneeling musketeers were a real nut to crack as they didn't have their cuffs sculpted. To bring them to the level they are now, it was neccessary to do the job for the sculptor
... The result you can see.
Grenadiers will follow shortly, it's just a question of days.
This month hasn't been really nice to me. The real governors of the Earth have attacked me and occupied some of my domains.
These bloody minikins particularly like my bronchi and don't let me paint ... er, not only paint. Despite my shaking hands,
horrible cough and high temperature, I, at least, varnished a couple of figures to post them here.
I hope you enjoy them. Other ones will follow soon. Fortunately antibiotics are still hell effective.
O.K. here I'm again. I've been really busy recently with painting and at work. Seems the summer's over and the students are to start visiting my seminars again. Thinking about it, I wouldn't like to be a student again. I've probably got settled and I'm happy with that.
Now about painting. I've been busily working on the last of the Brits for the FIW. When I'm through with them, I'll certainly put them in my gallery.
In between, to relax a bit, I've been also painting a couple of Norman riders. Here's one of them.
I haven't posted anything for a long time because it's summer and a travel time. For nkow, something from my travels.
In the "article" section you can find really fresh pics of a reenactment battle in Slavkov (Austerlitz) chateau park.
Eureka, I've finished the generals. So, do not hesitate and click the gallery. You'll also find a 6 pdr surprise there.
Again, it's late night here, but night is the only peaceful time to paint. Everyone's dreaming of ...??? and ... here I
come with some pics. Naturally, I'm progressing with the riders. Not that fast as I'd like to, because painting white belongs to the most
difficult tasks. This one I've been painting for the last four days. I couldn't get the coat right, so I was painting, mixing, and repainting ...
till I got to this result, which I'm quite satisfied with.
I'm still working on the cavalry.... Oh, it's nearly midnight, the ghost hour. I'd better go to bed now. So, just the pics.
As you can see from the images, I've moved further on with painting the horses. Just a couple of brush strokes and they'll be finished.
When I paint, it's really hard to decide the miniature is finished. So, I ask my wife and when she says: "It looks really good.", I'm
usually about to finish.
The next step - naturally the riders. Hope to be finished soon, so that you can see
the final result. ...The days are so short.
Today we visited Silesian-Ostravian castle (The name might not be correct in English, but it sounds good to me.) because it was the third anniversary of opening
the nearly ruined (being reconstructed bit by bit) castle to public again. Each year they present a different period and
this time they focused on Napoleonic wars. Large contingents of reenactors in French, Austrian, and Russian uniforms arrived. It was a really great show
and not only for the kids.
So, if you desire to see some pics, click the "article" section.
Just a WIP picture. I've been painting FIW generals and here are their two horses.
Once looking at my websites a wild thought NEW DESIGN struck my mind. I simply couldn't resist
and
decided to change completely the background, colours, ... simply everything.
The previous design, my first attempt at html and css, wasn't that bad, but you certainly know that: "It can always be better.". This time I was seeking more advanced solution complying with the KISS rule (Keep It Stupid Simple). And here's the result and I hope you like it ... if not these are my sites and I like them.
I've replaced the former sections "commissions" and "for sale" with one "STORE". When browsing the Net and serching for new sites about wargaming and painting, it's certainly fine to learn about the people in the back. Well, I've also decided to go a little public and added a section "ABOUT ME".
Of course, I didn't fall that deep into programming to forget about my precious figures, paints and brushes, etc. - and naturally progressed a bit. The French and Indian War goes on with new line infantry and artilery. Have a look at the gallery.
